Memo Availability

Some readers of this wiki are eager to have students and other people associated with colleges and universities (across the world) to host copies of these memos on their university web space and elsewhere to emphasize the educational, informative nature of these memos.

Currently there are no links on this site for downloading Eli Lilly secret files. Please do not post new ones until the injunction is lifted.

Memo Analysis

• OCR - A powerful, open source, OCR engine named tessaract was recently released by google. These memos would be an excellent data set for to work with, and a full text index of their contents would be incredibly valuable.
• Data visualization - With such a large data set, tools to visualize it will be helpful. Short of a full-blown nvivo or other, this tagline generator could be an interesting start.

• On 12/29/06 Eli Lilly attorneys obtained a second court order targeting a number of individuals who they claim may be distributing their files. On 12/30/06 these Eli Lilly lawyers emailed the owner of one of the mirror sites, Eric Whalen, to attempt to intimidate him into silence. Their email exchange is posted here.
